A small sailing boat is taken by this huge wave.... or maybe it represents an individual's adventures under a starry night skywhile travelling the world ...
This piece is wheel thrown and hand made in stoneware, fired to 1245ºC and cooled back down over a period of 3 days.
It is glazed in the artist's own glazes, a dark blue with pink bursts and a pale crystaline green.
It can hold about 750cl, stands 25cm tall and is a fully functional teapot.
Made on the wheel and handformed by Catherine Portal at La Poterie Ceramics Cascais Portugal.
